Wikiosity

Currently in its nascent stages somewhere on the web, probably around about here, lies the Superosity Wiki. We can all thank the efforts of zgeycp in lamenting the lack of such a Wiki, and deepskyfrontier in approaching Chris about it, and Chris for assenting to the request.

Now we must fill it with the jewels of Superosity lore. Just think, next time your grandmama asks what this Superosity jag is all about, you can just point her towards http://www.wikisuperosity.com and have her read all about it. She will be amazed, she will be impressed, she may well even pat you on the head and give you a freshly baked cookie.

That's http://www.wikisuperosity.com, soon the place to go when you need to wise up on Superosity arcana.

Excellent!

I'll start building on this in a day or two; in the meantime I suggest filling every page with links to as-of-yet unwritten articles, so that we can bud out from there.

Thus far I have only added the minor character of Albie to see how it worked. I'm unclear on the appropriate format for footnotes, or the method for adding subtitles, and everything else really. It might be the weekend before I can really go through and start making significant contributions.

It is good that it is now available though, even if it will reduce this blog's potential scope once it has grown to a decent size.

I agree with Zgeycp on the idea of including orphan links. I was thinking too that perhaps we should write a bunch of one-paragraph articles on as many subjects as we can think of.

As for formatting, go to wikipedia and hit the edit link on random pages that show the formatting you'd like to use. That's what I've always done. You can even copy and paste the footnotes from a wikipedia page and just change the salient info- keeping the basic form.

Performed my first edit today.

Alternate Boardies (Time Protector Boardy, Steve, B.J.) have been catalogued.

Even though wikisuperosity is taking up a lot of my Superosity-related time, I still visit SMMG frequently.

Even if the Wiki is ever completed, there will still be a place for this blog. The sheer volume of Superosity is so dizzying that a good historian will always be valued.

Some links I don't know what to do with yet:

A rare appearance of Doggiebags Richman: http://superosity.keenspot.com/d/20020616.html

Snap's son Snooty was apparently born in or prior to 2008, but has yet to appear in the present: http://superosity.keenspot.com/d/20020609.html

A wiki can never be completed! It's like a pyramid of sand. The more you add to the top, the wider the base becomes. It's not like a pyramid of stones, where the stones are stuck in place because they're blocky shaped and don't roll down (which would be a liability, come to think of it- also, dropping them from the top would be difficult for ancient Egyptian slave-architects).

I'd say that Doggiebags is sometimes the only one not to abandon Moneybags and use it as a reference to show evidence.

As for Snoot, great catch! That's exactly the kind of thing that makes a wiki so useful. Maybe Snoot is a nickname.

Snooty appeared in the same week of strips as Victor, over in 3013 Snapalla.

Sometimes I go to the Wiki with the intention of writing things and slack off, other times I come here with the intention of writing things and slack off.

Still, I'm not the only one slacking off. Why aren't the legions of other Superosity fans contributing? Surely they exist.

What I do is just pick a random story line and read Superosity until I come across something that I must wikifiy.

I always feel funny following up my own comments with more comments of my own.

Really?

I don't.

Darn it, I've been intending to add something to this blog all week. And I've been intending to add way more to the wiki ever since it started.

What I'm saying is that I'm really, really lazy even when in regard to things that are great, like Superosity. What hope do I have with things that are lousy, like my career?

The mices really are a wonderful recent addition to the Superosity cast.

I like the Martians better. They're lovable little urchins.
